How are the prints mounted onto the wall?

  • Pin Fixed Mounting - We supply the print with 4 x holes and 4 x 19mm diameter fixings and mountings and a mounting template to assist in installation.  Or

  • Concealed Fixing - We supply the print with two aluminum u-channels. One is already attached to the rear of the print using high strength PH neutral adhesive. The second will comes included which needs to be fixed to your wall. Instructions included

What is direct to glass printing?

Printing onto glass utilizes a number of processes, depending on the desired outcome. It involves the application of specific inks directly onto the surface of the glass. These inks are then fired into the glass to render them permanent. This process is perfect for splash backs and wet areas.

How many prints do I need to order?

There is no minimum number of prints. You can order an individual piece of glass, or order as many as you require. 

How do I get my images to you?

Depending on the size of your file, you can either e-mail us, send via We Transfer, One Drive, Google Drive or any other app that allows you send larger files. Our e-mail address is [email protected]

What are your turnaround times?

Allow 14 - 21 days from date of artwork approval. 

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept MasterCard, VISA, EFT or a direct deposit. T&C's Apply.

Are there any hidden costs that I will need to cover?

We supply the printed glass image and mounting brackets. Price excludes installation. Please enquire about installation costs.

What resolution should my image be?

The quality of  the final print will be dependent on the quality of the image we receive from you. The higher the resolution, the better the final print will be. We recommend using a resolution of 300dpi. Minimum file size 1mb. 

Which different sizes do you offer?

Sizes start from 40 x 20cm however we can produce custom sized prints to fit into any space. Simply contact us to discuss your requirements. 

Do your prices include VAT and delivery?

Our prices do include VAT. Delivery costs can be calculated upon quote request, costs are dependent on location. 

What resolution will my image be printed at?

Black & White and Spot colour - Up to 660DPI

Full Colour - Up to 1440DPI 

What can you print from?

We can print from any high resolution media file. All popular graphics formats including PDF, PS, EPS, Tiff, BMP and JPEG files are supported.

Can you print in black and white?

Yes we can, even if you send us a colour image, we are able to convert it to black and white.

Can you print in colour?

Yes we can print in colour.

What type of glass do you use?

We utilize two types of glass, that come in various thicknesses. Our standard is 6mm glass toughened for safety. For optimum clarity or for images with lighter colours we make use of optimum clarity glass, we will advise you if this glass is required for your order. 

What inks do you use?

We use ceramic based inks. When these inks are heated to extreme temperatures (600 degrees celsius) they render the image on the glass permanent and scratch resistant. Face mounted images are printed on our OCE Arizona 350 GT flatbed printer.

My image goes right to the edge of the print, will this affect the image on glass?

No it will not, the image will also go to the edge of the glass.

Do I need to copyright images I send to you?

All images printed by Printing onto Glass will require you to accept a purchase declaration (tick box) stating you own the image or are licensed to reproduce it.
